How Cigars & Stogies Reviews Cigars
A useful review should tell you what was smoked, how it performed, who it suits, and whether it represents good value. This is the standard we use for hands-on reviews.
What We Record
- Cigar name, line, vitola, dimensions, and country of origin
- Wrapper, binder, filler, strength, body, and price paid
- Purchase source, storage conditions, and number of samples smoked
- Pre-light aroma and draw
- Flavor development through the first, second, and final thirds
- Construction, burn, draw, consistency, and smoking time
- Best audience, occasion, pairing, and alternatives

What a Score Means
- 95–100: Exceptional and highly memorable
- 90–94: Excellent; confidently recommended
- 85–89: Very good; worth considering
- 80–84: Good with notable tradeoffs
- Below 80: Difficult to recommend at the reviewed price
