It is early May and a gorgeous day in South Florida. We are in Palm Beach, FL for a long-awaited time off for rest and relaxation. Pam and I are vacationing with my brother Luke and his wife Kim. We have been researching things to do in Palm Beach and there are many options. Do a sunset cruise, shopping on Worth Ave., chilling at the beach or swimming in our house pool.
Today we chose to go to Worth Ave. and let the wives shop while we carried bags and made sure the wives had a relaxing day. As we walked up and down the avenue we came across a lot of nice shops and boutiques. If you haven’t been to Worth Ave., my advice would be to go and have some fun.
Worth Avenue
We hit many different shops and came across this amazing book store Raptis Rare Books , but before we could go in my brother Luke noticed Churchill Cigars. So, we walked in and looked around quickly but had to leave for lunch. It was mid-day, and everyone was pretty hungry.
A short walk to BiCe Ristorante for a nice lunch and a glass of wine helped get our shopping faces on. The wives decide to go shopping on the other end of Worth Avenue, so my brother and I decided to check out Churchill Cigar Company.
Churchill Cigar
Walking into the lounge we noticed how nice and upscale the environment looked. The solid wood humidors and each cabinet with dedicated humidification by Cigar Oasis was really nice. If you don’t know about Cigar Oasis then check out my post here.
On the wall are nice pictures of famous cigar smokers with Paul Newman, JFK and of course Winston Churchill among others. In addition, there are letters written by Winston Churchill framed across the lounge. Really Nice touch.
I bought a few My Father Cigars from Matthew Raptis, the co-owner with Stephane Sportouch.
After we lit our cigars, the conversations began. The owners are really great guys and just like all cigar lounges we talked about cigars, work, the problems of the world and many other topics. Stephane showed me around the humidors, and we had a great discussion about their collection of Padron, Zinio and My Father Cigars.
We sat back in these plush chairs with a nice breeze from the air conditioning and a great single malt scotch. Sitting back in the chair I realized that their ventilation system is top notch as the smoke just disappeared quickly to the ceiling and out of the room.
Our time in the lounge was great but unfortunately it was winding down, so I purchased two of Stephane’s favorite cigars, Padron No. 40.
The wives showed up as they were done shopping and our cigars were finished.
We made it back to our house and I couldn’t wait to keep the good times rolling so I poured me another drink and had a Padron No. 40.
All Good Things Come To An End…
Amazing time and an amazing place in Palm Beach, FL. Do yourself a favor and check these guys out.
All the best,
Dr. B
